| The Pre-Primary Combination class includes Ballet, Tap and Jazz styles and techniques. The Ballet component is a fun introduction to ballet and general dance technique. Students are encouraged to learn and refine many new skills through the use of props, musical instruments and their imagination. It is a structured class that teaches, centre practice, travelling exercises, team work, rhythm and timing to a modern take on classical music.
Children should also begin to develop general body awareness, body alignment, basic feet and arm positions and control and coordination of the entire body. Students at this level are also able to participate in a R.A.D Pre-Primary Assessment.
The Jazz/Tap component includes stretching, cardiovascular warm-up, basic body isolations and coordination exercises using upbeat and popular music. This class also introduces the children to Tap technique using basic tap steps and slightly slower music so the children can develop a sense of rhythm and learn to count music while dancing to it at the same time.
