Dance Desires holds annual R.A.D & S.F.D examinations. Dance Desires believes in the importance of every student having an attainable goal. Progress is measured either by an examination or a presentation class. Examinations are open to all students studying the R.A.D or S.F.D syllabi, offering them a challenge to demonstrate their understanding and knowledge of the work. Each syllabus is challenging, stimulating and designed to build a student's skills and sustain their interest in their chosen style of dance. Exams commence at Pre-Primary level and are held once a year.

R.A.D (Ballet)
The Royal Academy of Dance is the largest examining and teacher education organization for Classical Ballet in the world. With over 17,000 members, its influence has spread to over 80 countries. More than 250,000 students are taught the Academy's examination syllabi.
The R.A.D examination syllabus has been devised with great care and provides two distinct pathways. The Graded syllabus is for younger children and is great fun to dance. The Vocational Graded syllabus is for boys and girls over the age of 11 who wish to study ballet more seriously, possibly with a view to pursue a career in dance or dance related subjects. However, examinations are not compulsory. Students who for various reasons may not wish to take a formal examination can opt instead for presentation classes.
S.F.D (Jazz and Tap)
Southern Federation of Dance was created in 1986 by a group of dance teachers who saw a pressing need for a new style of syllabus; a dance organization with up-to-date choreography and teaching techniques.
Progressive and up-to-date, the S.F.D syllabi are designed to develop musicality and quality of performance. The sequential training system has been developed in Australia and incorporates the safest dance principles. By providing optimal outcomes for all students, each individual is able to achieve his or her best. |
